Celery root is used for cooking in a variety of dishes from soups to casseroles, it may be stewed, boiled, baked, put in a salad, dried and used as a seasoning for soups and vegetable stews, bouillons, meat and vegetable dishes. Often cooked the soups-puree with the root or stalks of the celery, or boiled with other vegetables and grinded. Combine the celery in soups or in main dishes either with broccoli, usual cabbage or sauerkraut, beans, tomatoes and many other vegetables.

By recipe of Frida from Odessa Moldavanka (though she uses all kosher - for veal or chicken giblets) and we do on pork and are very delighted - because for Ukrainians "no meat better than pork."

Ingredients: 300 g of pork, onion "Aroma" 1 teaspoon, sauerkraut 500 g, 300 g of potatoes, celery root dried "Ideal Root" 20-30 g, black pepper, salt.

Cooking: In the hot fat to stew pieces of celery root "Ideal Root" for 5-6 minutes and 1-2 minutes with "Aroma" onions.

Add sliced meat, portions of approximately 2 cm, into a cauldron, all mix well, add a little water or bone broth as needed.

Do not add much liquid, the meat must be stewed. To almost ready meat, at the time when all the liquid has to evaporate, there is only fat, add the peeled and diced potatoes and sauerkraut.

Add salt and pepper to taste, and stew. Mrs. Frida suggests to eat a ready-made dish with a tomato juice.
